My most special gift

My Dad passed away last year. He loved working with wood and many years ago made me this manager which  I treasure  for the love that made it. I can see him in his "wood room" running his hands over each piece, figuring out how to make the gate swing, wondering what I'd think. If only he knew how precious it is to me.  I miss him dearly.
I put it under my tree with the gate open---a reminder that "knock, and the door will be opened and I will come in..."
